General Business
Airborne Fun tandem glider purchased and here.
Cost - $3500. Initally it was agreed that a payment of $3600 be paid by chq to cover the purchase, packaging and frieght.
It turned out that I (Grant T) had to travel to Taupo the following weekend, and I decided to carry on and pick up the glider also. Dave Shaw (seller)agreed to reimburse the $100. Following discussion by members present, it was agreed that $50 be allocated to Grant for travelling costs (extra 180km each way, plus carting the thing back to Carterton), and remaining $50 paid back into club funds.
Notification that the National AGM is being held in Wellington 7-8 September, at the Aeroclub rooms.
Nominations reqd for positions.
Wellington club AGM next meeting. Notification will be sent out shortly.
Club subscriptions. Provisionally set at the same as previous year - $35.00. This to be confirmed at the club AGM.
Discussion regards an alternative takeoff at Paekak. This was looked at some time ago, but after some good work by Craig Boswell (our chief takeoff maintenance officer!) didnt get very far. Intention to clear a TO just below the look-out. The aim is to make it safer to launch in stronger northerly conditions.
I'll be calling for volunteers!
